Last updated: July 14, 2026 — Rough draft. Subject to revision before broader release.
By creating an account or using Tweak (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all users of Tweak, including users who contribute recipes, tweaks, or other content.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using Tweak, you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You are fully responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at contact@tweakyourrecipe.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to keep that information up to date.
Subject to these Terms, Tweak grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not:
You retain ownership of the recipes, tweaks, notes, images, and other content (“Content”) you submit to Tweak. By submitting Content, you grant Tweak a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit that Content as necessary to operate and provide the Service.
We will not sell your Content to third parties.
Every recipe in Tweak includes a required source field. Depending on the source type you select, you must provide the relevant reference — for example, the book title, the website or social media link (e.g., a recipe blog, Instagram post, or TikTok video), or the name of the app it came from. This is a condition of using the Service — not optional. You represent that the source information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
You agree that Content you submit will not:
Tweak does not review Content before it is posted. We reserve the right to remove Content that violates these Terms and to terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
Every recipe in your account has one of three visibility settings:
You control the visibility setting for each recipe. You may change a recipe’s visibility at any time, subject to the restrictions in Sections 6b and 6c.
Recipes imported into your account via an external URL (e.g., from a cooking website) are permanently restricted to Private visibility. They may not be shared with your community or made public. This restriction exists because Tweak does not own and cannot grant sharing rights to content owned by third-party publishers.
Recipes whose source is a book or a website or social media link (e.g., a recipe blog, Instagram post, or TikTok video) may not be made Public. Such recipes may be set to Private (visible only to you) or Community (visible to your community members), but the Public option is unavailable. This restriction exists to protect the intellectual property rights of the original authors, publishers, and creators. You may still share these recipes within your community, provided you comply with Section 5c.
Content you mark as Public may be viewed by anyone on the internet. You represent that you have the right to share any recipe you make publicly available and that doing so does not violate any third-party rights.
Each Tweak user may build a personal community — a group of people they choose to share recipes with. Community membership is entirely opt-in: you choose who is in your community, and others choose whether to accept.
All members of a community can view each other’s community-visible recipes.
You are responsible for the people you invite into your community. Tweak is not responsible for disputes between community members or for Content shared within a private community.
Tweak’s defining feature is the ability to “tweak” a recipe — to take a copy of any recipe and modify it within your own account. When you tweak a recipe:
Tweaking is designed to acknowledge the creative work of the original author. The link to the original recipe on every tweak is a core feature and cannot be removed. By tweaking a recipe, you agree to preserve and display that attribution.
The original author retains all rights in their original recipe. A tweak you create is your own Content, subject to these Terms, including Section 5. You may not claim another person’s original recipe as your own original work.
All materials comprising the Tweak platform — including software, design, logos, and trademarks — are owned by Tweak or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of Tweak’s intellectual property to you.
If you believe Content on Tweak infringes your copyright, please send a notice to contact@tweakyourrecipe.com that includes:
We will respond to valid DMCA notices and, where appropriate, remove infringing content and terminate repeat infringers’ accounts.
You agree not to use the Service to:
Tweak will never display pop-up advertisements of any kind, or moving, animated, or video advertisements. This is a standing commitment, not subject to change at will. Any modification to this commitment would require prominent advance notice and an explicit revision to these Terms.
Standard accounts may display a small number of static, non-intrusive advertisements to support the operation of the Service.
Users may upgrade to a paid membership to remove all advertisements. Memberships auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel through your account settings before the renewal date. Refunds are not issued for partial billing periods except where required by applicable law.
Tweak may display links to third-party websites or content. We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or safety of any third-party content. A link does not constitute an endorsement.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tweak disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure; that recipes or nutritional information submitted by users are accurate or safe; or that any defects will be corrected.
You use the Service and any recipes found on it at your own risk. Always use your own judgment regarding food safety and dietary suitability.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Tweak and its officers, directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event will Tweak’s total liability to you exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Tweak in the twelve months before the claim or (b) $100 USD.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tweak and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable attorneys’ fees — arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service, your Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property right.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms or that your use of the Service poses a risk to other users or to the integrity of the platform. We will endeavor to provide notice when we can.
Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends. Recipes and tweaks you created that no other member has pinned, rated, commented on, or tweaked will be deleted. Recipes and tweaks that other members have interacted with will remain visible to the community you already shared them with, attributed to a “Deleted user,” since removing that content could break tweaks, comments, or meal plans other members built on top of it.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, provide notice within the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of your State, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in your county/city, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
